Feed Sensor - Replacement

Before starting, the sensor must be removed from the sensor bracket and the hopper must be empty. If the sensor is still on the sensor bracket, see 3. Check whether the sensor is working

  1. Note the position of the two nuts on the old sensor. The new sensor comes with two nuts — thread them onto the new sensor at approximately the same positions as on the old sensor. This gives a good starting point for the position calibration in Step 5.

Each nut has two slightly different sides. When threading the nuts onto the sensor, thread both nuts onto the sensor as shown in the image below.

  1. To disconnect the cable, turn the collar counterclockwise to release, then pull the connector away from the sensor.

  1. Connect the cable to the new sensor. The connector can only be inserted in one position — align the connector onto the sensor pins and press firmly until fully seated, then turn the collar clockwise to secure.

  1. Slide the new sensor into the notch on the sensor bracket.

  1. The sensor position must now be calibrated to ensure it detects feed correctly and not the surrounding metal. See Feed sensor — Position Calibration.
