Engine Control Panel
Both engine control panels are mounted on the rear the AeroCUBE on the truck.
Oil Pressure — Shows current oil pressure. Also displays the shutdown trigger needle.
Engine Temperature — Shows current engine temperature.
Engine Speed (RPM) — Shows current engine speed.
Engine Hours — Shows total accumulated engine run time.
Bypass Switch — When pressed with the ignition key ON, the Bypass Switch bypasses the low oil pressure shutdown, starts the fuel pump, and starts the alternator.
Engine Ignition Key — Starts and stops the engine.
Bypass Switch Behavior
The engine has a low oil pressure shutdown to protect the engine. The shutdown activates when the two oil pressure gauge needles touch.
One needle shows actual oil pressure. The other needle shows the shutdown activation level. Oil pressure is zero when the engine is not running, so the two needles touch whenever the engine is off.
The Bypass Switch prevents the shutdown from activating during startup. The Bypass Switch also starts the fuel pump and starts the alternator.
The needles separate once the engine is running and oil pressure rises from zero to operating pressure.
Start the Engine
Press and hold the Bypass Switch on the engine control panel.
At the same time, turn the ignition key past the ON position to crank the engine. Release the key once the engine starts.
Continue pressing the Bypass Switch until the oil pressure needle and the shut down activation needle separate. Then release the Bypass Switch. The engine is now running.
